Parish Council starts village Fund Raising Campaign
Adderbury’s New Sports and Community Centre on the Milton Road Gathers Momentum.
The Parish Council’s ambition for this project is to provide a facility which will have a number of different sports, as well as a new community hall and to also improve the facilities in the Lucy Plackett Playing Field.
There are over 30 village sports and Community groups who have expressed a wish to use the new facilities, including the Christopher Rawlins Primary School. This is an exciting project which will have anintergenerational benefit across the whole community of Adderbury.
It will be a valuable asset to this village and will be a benefit to the whole community now and in the future.
After a lull due to Covid-19, the project has now gathered momentum. Much progress has been made so far:
Planning permission for the main building has been granted.
The sports pitch area is now in place, and the main entrance and footpath linking to the village have been installed.
All this has been achieved under budget!
The Parish Council has now begun a campaign to raise the remaining funds needed for the building. Together with the WFAC residents’ group we are making applications for grants from national bodies but the Parish Council hopes all residents will now join the fund raising campaign, either by holding an event or by supporting other fund raising initiatives.
Two easy ways to donate are through the Cherwell Lottery, which provides funds for many local causes, including WFAC.
Secondly you can help without donating a penny!!
Sign up on “easyfundraising.org.uk “and every time you buy online a free donation will go to the “Working for Adderbury Community Fund”.

“Thank you to all our stall holders, volunteers and businesses for helping to make the day a huge success. The glorious weather helped in no small way and it was just so heartwarming to see so many people of all ages out and about after such a difficult time in our history. Please let us know your thoughts on how we can make it an even better day for next time.”
