Milton Road site
The community building planning application has been lodged with Cherwell District Council (CDC) and can be seen on their planning website, reference no: 19/02796/F. We hope to be able to update you on their decision in the April edition of the Contact and via our website. Once planning permission has been given, we will begin by applying for large grants to cover the cost of the building work. This stage can only go forward when enough funds have been committed to the project by grant awarding bodies. You can view the publicity boards, showing the site layout and internal plans of the building, in Adderbury library, the WFAC website and on display at our fundraising events.
The Parish Council and WFAC intend the facility to be for all the community, for all ages and include a variety of activities.
Preparation of the sports pitches at the Milton Road site will begin in the Spring or when the weather permits.
We have not forgotten about the Lucy Plackett area and part of our plan is to improve the facilities and this will form part of the final stage of the project. The WFAC have been considering ideas already put forward and we welcome any input and suggestions from residents.
We have teamed up with Cherwell Lottery and for £1 a week you could win up to £25,000! By doing this you will not only be supporting the Milton Road sports and community project but also other very worthwhile local causes. 50% per cent of all tickets sold, go to our cause plus 10% is given back to other local causes, including our sports and community project!

Adderbury Park Football Club are organising a Race Evening on Saturday, 28th March, 7pm at Adderbury Institute. All proceeds will go towards the sports and community project. For further details please contact:

Owing to the huge success of the Community Day in 2018 and 2019, we plan to organise another Community Day again this year on Saturday, 19th September although we need volunteers to help us, so if you have some spare time and would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.
Future fundraising events include, the Autumn Aunt Agatha Tea Party on Sunday, 11th October and the Christmas Aunt Agatha on Sunday, 13th December.
Raffle prizes are always welcome for these events and if you can help with this, please let us know.
Owing to the success of the Autumn Ball last year, we were able to donate £200 to Katharine House Hospice. We also donated £200 to Lake House who used our donation to pay for the piper at their recent Burns Night Celebration and The Let’s Play Project who used our donation to help fund their recent drama show case evening.
We are not having an Autumn Ball this year but are thinking about the possibility of a “Spring Ball” for 2021. Watch this space!
If you are not able to support us by coming to our events, you can support us in other ways. For example, you could hold your own fundraiser on our behalf or maybe do a race or other challenge and ask people to sponsor you.
As with all voluntary organisations we always need help and if you have some spare time, have experience with fundraising, grant applications or have been a secretary or treasurer of a voluntary organisation before, we would love to hear from you.
